Comprising five tracks of cinematic electronic music, Self Distraction juxtaposes gritty analog synthesizers and organic instrumentation against an omnivorous sampling sensibility that encompasses everything from delirious saxophones to cheerleading routines and video game sound effects.
Following on from 2016's independently released Gravity EP – which amassed over 550,000 streams – Self Distraction dials up the energy and ambition through meticulous programming and a diverse array of tempos, styles and structures.
Lead single 'Magical Realism' attempts to emulate the premise behind the literary genre of the same name by contrasting haunting vocals against a razor-edged bassline and hard-hitting drums. Elsewhere, 'Running out of Control' couples lush shoegaze guitars with 180bpm jungle breaks, while 'Fashionable Agony' takes cues from Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon as an artificially lit exploration of self-obsession.

Cliche, but Resonance is my favorite. Besides that, every track on this album is great to listen to in a lot of scenarios. I can do work to this. I can sleep to this. I can chill out forever to this. saintlucafont
